The corrective heel wedge is bidirectional and can be used in either a varus (medial) or valgus (lateral) orientation. A medial wedge will reduce pronation, limiting heel and arch pain. It will prevent foot flattening and decrease excessive motion of the subtalar and midtarsal joints. It is helpful in the reduction of tendonitis associated with medical instability.
